How do I use my free SSL Certificate?

Shortly after the nameservers for your domain are pointed to your cPanel Pay Monthly Hosting plan on our servers we will install your FREE SSL Certificate for you.

To use this FREE SSL Certificate all you have to do is to remember to use the secure prefix for your websites URL. i.e. you must us

https://www.mydomain.com

and NOT

http://www.mydomain.com

Please note that the difference is that the first URL tells the browser to use a Secure connection, denoted by the S in https.

HTTP = Hypertext Transfer Protocol

HTTPS = Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure

Most popular CMS, such as WordPress, have a setting within the admin dashboard where you set the protocol to use. Therefore ensure that this is set to https.

If you have installed any of the apps using our Softaculous auto installer you will have been given the opportunity to set the protocol when you first installed the app. However, if you had set your site to use http and subsequently wish to change this to use https you can do this by clicking the pencil icon to "Edit Details" of your installation overview, as described in Section 10 of How to Install WordPress using Softaculous.
